An Idealist view of Life

Man's helplessness in the presence of nature makes him look up to supreme sources of power and blessings. We adopt the religion for it's practical efficiency and not for getting in to relation with the supreme spirit as the embodiment of the highest perfection. .............. Religion has been used from the beginning for carrying on the social organization and conserving the secular values, for religious sanctions seem to be more effective for keeping men more loyal and law-abiding than prisons and police courts. Religion is the device to give an emotional stimulus to the socially beneficent activities.
